• The door to my office slammed open again, and in came Peter. I let out a groan, already tired of these sudden visits. Ever since the talk we had here three days ago, our friendship has slowly begun to mend. He has been helping me keep Laura’s little gang—Pearl, Ruby, and Prism—in check when they try to pick fights with pack members, following her cruel orders. More importantly, he’s been my extra set of eyes, making sure Laura doesn’t go too far.
• Just yesterday, I was forced to threaten Laura with destroying the only picture she owns of herself and her mother. She had been tormenting the omegas again, treating them as if they were her personal slaves.
