Chapter 193 Shadows At The Alpha's Door

• The anger boiling inside me is hard to control as we climb the familiar stairs. We’ve just passed the third floor, and strangely, there’s no one guarding it. Briana and I exchange a look—something feels wrong. We pause, keeping silent as we stretch our senses to scan the area. It’s a good thing we did, because moments later, a small group of warriors walks right by the stairwell.
• This time, Briana stays back while Titus, Ash, and I handle them. One of the warriors comes at me fast, swinging a dagger when he notices I’m not carrying one of the tranquilizer guns. I block him, twist his wrist, and manage to rip the weapon from his hand before he can stab me. The fight ends with me driving the same dagger into his chest.
