Chapter 15 There Is Only One Big Boss

  • Over at the highest floor at Hansen Group, Yuvan stood in front of the window to make a phone call.
  • He dared not sit even when he was on the phone with Phillip.
  • “Mr. Phillip, everything has been settled.”
  • Yuvan asked respectfully, “Do you have any other instructions for me?”
  • “From now on, you only need to listen to my boss. Once I’m done on my end, I’ll head to Derport.”
  • Yuvan trembled. Mr. Phillip is coming here?
  • “Tell me, Yuvan. Why do you think I supported your rise to success in Derport?”
  • Yuvan suddenly understood. It was because of Nathan!
  • Nathan was coming to Derport, so he had to make sure everything was set up properly well in advance, so there would be someone here to get things done for him!
  • Had Nathan already planned everything five years ago?
  • “You’re a clever person, so you don’t need too many hints,” Phillip continued. “Do your best, and Mr. Jones will reward you well.”
  • Phillip hung up.
  • Yuvan took a few deep breaths but couldn’t calm himself down.
  • He knew how scary Phillip was, so he was even more reverent towards Nathan. What kind of person would he be?
  • From Phillip’s words, Yuvan realized his opportunity was coming. His reason for existing was to work for Nathan. Everything that had been prepared for the last few years was now going to be put to good use.
  • Knock!
  • There was a knock on the door, and one of his subordinates quickly walked in.
  • “Boss.”
  • “Next time, call me Mr. Hansen!” Yuvan immediately frowned and said very solemnly.
  • “From now on, there is only one Boss in the whole of Derport!”
  • “Got it, Mr. Hansen. I’ve already sent out the news according to your instructions.”
  • Yuvan narrowed his eyes. “It’s that father and son from the Lambert family right?”
  • “Finn gave me half a million in return for knowing how you’re related to Rebecca. So, I told him that it’s because you went through some tough times together with Nathan, and you’re now returning the favor.
  • Yuvan nodded. “Okay.”
  • If he truly went through tough times with Nathan, that would be the greatest blessing in his life!
  • Sadly, he knew he’d never be qualified for that.
  • “This father and son duo had better watch out. Otherwise, even if Mr. Jones doesn’t care about small fry like them, I will not let them ruin Mr. Jones’ mood! Report to me if anything crops up!” Yuvan ordered.
  • “Got it!”
  • He had a premonition that a huge storm was coming for Derport, and he’d have to be prepared for it...
  • ……
  • Nathan drove Rebecca toward the construction site of the factory for the new project she had just signed.
  • The Lamberts had invested quite a bit into the particular project and even purchased a piece of land in the outskirts of the city just to build a factory for it.
  • “What did my Mom talk to you about?” Rebecca asked.
  • She saw that Nathan was actually able to hold a conversation with Celia, and couldn’t help feeling strange about it.
  • She understood Celia well. Her mother was a very headstrong woman, so even though she had suffered so much over the years, she was still able to endure everything.
  • However, she also knew that Celia couldn’t accept Tobias forcing them to take Nathan into the family.
  • “She said I’m doing pretty well,” Nathan replied. “She encouraged me to continue working hard, and if she’s happy with me, she’ll get you to marry me for real.”
  • “Nonsense.”
  • Rebecca felt her face go red. She didn’t believe any of this.
  • He was only someone Celia had known for a few days. How could she have said something like that?
  • “Okay, okay. No more nonsense.”
  • Nathan turned to look at Rebecca. “Your mother warned me that if I ever hurt you, she’ll fight me to death.”
  • Now, that sounded more like Celia.
  • “Nathan, even though I have no idea why you’ve decided to be here, I know you won’t hurt me.”
  • Rebecca took a deep breath. “Thank you.”
  • Nathan didn’t say anything.
  • The one who should be saying thank you was him.
  • From afar, they could see that there was a large group of people gathered in front of the entrance to the construction site, blocking the way and causing a lot of trouble.
  • Nathan parked the car and Rebecca quickly ran over.
  • “What? What do you want?” There was anxiety all over one of the project managers’ faces.
  • The contract for the project was just finalized and the factory had to be completed as soon as possible for the project to start. Why had so many people shown up to stir up trouble?
  • “What?” the leader of the troublemakers scoffed, holding a wooden bat in his hand. “This piece of land is ours. Who gave you the permission to build a factory here? Get out now, or I’ll beat you up too!”
  • “Nonsense. This land is ours, and we’ve already signed the contract. When did it become yours?”
  • Rebecca was fuming mad.
  • She was the one who settled the contract, so she was very sure of that.
  • “Your contract is invalid!”
  • The leader laughed coldly. “Either way, we’re not letting you start work here. I’m going to just stand here and block your work. Forget about getting your materials in!”
  • “You’ve gone too far!”
  • Rebecca turned to the project manager and said, “Call the police!”
  • “Call the police?”
  • The leader glowered when he heard this. “How dare you call the police. Bloody hell… Guys! Destroy this place!”
  • With that, he lifted his bat and swung it as hard as he could!
  • Rebecca’s face immediately paled and she forgot to dodge.
  • She didn’t expect the group to be so unreasonable and unruly.
  • Bam!
  • Suddenly, there was a loud muffled sound followed by a howl.
  • Rebecca opened her eyes and saw Nathan standing right in front of her. He used one foot to send that gangster flying, and he was now sprawled motionless on the floor.
  • “You have the guts to hit my wife, huh?”
  • Nathan scanned the group of gangsters before him. “I’ll give you ten seconds. Get lost!”
  • “Ah…” The gangster on the floor felt that he had broken at least five or six bones and painfully shouted, “Kill him!”
  • More than ten other gangsters charged at Nathan at the same time!
  • “Nathan, look out!”
  • Rebecca was in shock. She didn’t think things would turn out like that.
  • However, before she could say anything else, what happened next froze her on the spot.
  • Bam! Bam! Bam!
  • Nathan’s actions were so fast that they became a blur!
  • In less than ten seconds, all the gangsters were sprawled on the floor with either broken arms or broken legs.
  • The howls of pain were blood-curdling!
  • The project managers, too, were pale from fright!
  • The scene before them was just too scary!
  • Nathan walked back to the leader of the gang with a foot on his chest and looked down nastily at him. “Who sent you here?”
  • “How dare you… Beat me…”
  • Fabian was in terrible pain as he clenched his teeth. “My boss will not let you off!”
  • “You’ve lost your chance.”
  • Nathan never had the habit of asking the same question twice. He stepped down hard with his foot, causing Fabian to scream before dying on the spot.
  • All the other gangsters were scared out of their wits.
  • What is this monstrosity?
  • Why is he so terrifying?
  • There were even a few who wet their pants, so scared that they were shaking in fear.
  • Nathan didn’t even bother looking at them. He merely pulled Rebecca along into the site, even though she was still in a daze.
  • “M-Ms. Lambert, should we still call the police?” the project manager stuttered.
  • “No need. We don’t need to bother the police with this kind of garbage.”
  • After saying that, Nathan turned around and started counting down. “Ten! Nine! Eight…”
  • He had only counted till seven when all the gangsters felt themselves shuddering. Despite their broken arms and legs, they struggled to make a run for it.
  • “Run! Run!”
  • “He’s a monster!”
  • “Help me up and take me along!!!”
  • They were sure that if they didn’t make themselves scarce within ten seconds, Nathan would make sure they disappeared off the face of the earth.
