Chapter 11 Where Did He Come From

  • Yuvan?
  • Yuvan was so rich and powerful, yet he was behaving like some entry-level employee and being on first-name basis with Rebecca.
  • What on earth was happening?
  • Quincy felt his ears ringing. He must have heard wrongly!
  • All the other directors also felt like their faces had frozen and couldn’t believe what they had heard. They looked at each other as if they were wondering whether everything was just their imagination.
  • But since everyone had the same expression, did that mean they had all imagined the same thing?
  • “Dad…”
  • Finn swallowed as he asked. “What did Mr. Hansen call himself?”
  • “Yuvan,” Quincy blurted out before shutting his mouth.
  • If Yuvan had heard him address him as such, he might die!
  • He wanted to go in, but Yuvan shut the door behind him.
  • Bang!
  • Everyone outside held their breath and fixed their gaze on the door, too afraid to even breathe too hard.
  • Just hearing the high and mighty Yuvan be on a first-name basis with Rebecca had made every single person in the company freeze over instantly.
  • What on earth was happening?
  • Didn’t Rebecca only get the project because she was sleeping with Yuvan? However, after seeing how respectful Yuvan was toward her, he was definitely not greeting a lover. He probably had even more respect for her than for his own parents.
  • Everyone was dumbstruck and couldn’t react at all.
  • Meanwhile, in the office, Rebecca quickly got up and walked over. “Mr. Hansen, why have you come personally?”
  • She really had no idea because Quincy didn’t tell her about it.
  • Up till now, the silly woman still hadn’t realized that Quincy had been trying to embarrass her.
  • Yuvan became even more terrified when Rebecca looked like she felt bad for him.
  • “Uh…Ms. Lambert, you don’t have to stand on ceremony with me. Please!” Yuvan hurriedly replied. “It’s only right for me to come to you.”
  • Previously, he didn’t know who Rebecca really was and was arrogant toward her, even harboring a few lecherous thoughts. Now, even if he had guts of steel, he wouldn’t dare step out of line.
  • When she saw how respectful Yuvan was, Rebecca was taken aback and didn’t understand what had happened.
  • She turned to look at Nathan. Could this have anything to do with him again?
  • Yuvan followed her gaze and finally saw the man sitting on the couch. His heart began pounding. “Who is this man?”
  • “I’m her husband,” Nathan introduced himself and said nothing more.
  • Yuvan’s heart dropped.
  • The woman of his boss’ boss was married?
  • What was going on?
  • Nevertheless, that was out of his hands. The only mission he had was to sign the contract and help Rebecca out.
  • “Ms. Lambert, I’ve come here today to sign the contract. If there are any details you need to change, just let me know, and I’ll get them done right away!”
  • Even if she wanted to take all the profit, Yuvan wouldn’t bat an eyelid.
  • “Thank you for supporting us, Mr. Hansen. Since we’ve already agreed on all the details before this, we’ll just go with that,” Rebecca happily replied.
  • She didn’t know what happened, but if she could successfully close this project, she’d be happier than anybody else.
  • “Oh, I nearly forgot. The contract is with the legal department. I’ll go get it now.”
  • Rebecca motioned to tell Yuvan to wait for a while and started walking out of the office.
  • “Ms. Lambert?” Yuvan couldn’t resist asking. “Do you… Do you know Mr. Phillip?”
  • Rebecca stopped in her tracks. Mr. Phillip? Who is that?
  • She shook her head. “No.”
  • Yuvan simply smiled. “Oh, it’s nothing. I’ll wait here for you to bring the contract over.”
  • Rebecca quickly opened the door to find a group of people anxiously waiting outside with different expressions on their faces.
  • Quincy’s expression fell. They were done talking already?
  • “Mr. Lambert, where’s the contract? Mr. Hansen has agreed to sign,” Rebecca asked.
  • Quincy took a moment to react, then quickly turned and yelled, “Contract! Mr. Quigley, get the contract here!”
  • He was still stunned though.
  • The head of the legal department immediately ran to get it.
  • “Rebecca, how are you and Mr. Hansen related?” Quincy couldn’t help but ask.
  • He still had goosebumps after hearing Yuvan being so friendly with Rebecca.
  • Rebecca frowned when she saw how everyone was looking at her. She didn’t like others looking at her like that.
  • She didn’t say anything, so Quincy didn’t ask anymore.
  • In the office, Nathan was still sitting on the couch lazily.
  • Yuvan nodded his head at him and sat on the other end.
  • No matter what, the man was Rebecca’s husband, so he should be polite to him.
  • “Phillip Taylor… When did he become Mr. Phillip.”
  • Nathan’s words made Yuvan feel like he was sitting on nails and he leapt up instantly.
  • He went completely stiff.
  • Phillip Taylor!
  • Of course, Yuvan knew Phillip’s name, but he had never met anyone who dared to call him by his name!
  • The man in front of him had apparently married into Rebecca’s family, but he knew who Phillip was and even dared to use his name.
  • “You… Do you know Mr. Phillip?”
  • After asking this question, Yuvan immediately felt stupid.
  • His brain suddenly shook and everything clicked. He knew who Nathan was!
  • He was Phillip’s boss!
  • He was Rebecca’s husband, which was why he protected her. Otherwise, why would Phillip have called him personally over a woman?
  • Yuvan’s face immediately paled and his body couldn’t stop trembling!
  • “Boss…”
  • He suddenly wasn’t sure how he should address Nathan. Big Boss? Mr. Jones?
  • “You just need to know who I am. There’s no need to expose my identity,” Nathan calmly said. “Phillip has already told me that you’re familiar with Derport, so as long as I stay here, there’ll be plenty of things I’ll need you to do.”
  • Yuvan immediately stood straight when he heard this.
  • “Yes, sir! Ready to take orders anytime!”
  • Oh, my goodness. This is the boss of my boss! Mr. Phillip is already amazing beyond words, and he’s the one who turned me into one of the most influential people in Derport within five years. His boss… I can’t even imagine the power he has! Where did this powerful man come from?
  • “My wife is a kind person, so kind that she gets bullied, and there are always people trying to do just that. You know what to do with those idiots who don’t know what’s good for them, don’t you?”
  • “Don’t worry, Mr. Jones. You don’t have to handle small fry like that. I will settle it for you.”
  • Yuvan hesitated for a while but still decided to address Nathan as Mr. Jones. However, he also felt that he should let Mr. Phillip know about it, in case the latter misunderstood him.
  • Creak!
  • The office door opened.
  • Nathan went back to his lazy posture, but Yuvan was still standing in front of him, slightly bowed and with great reverence.
  • “Mr. Hansen, I’ve brought the contract here.”
  • Rebecca was surprised when she saw this. For some reason Yuvan seemed a little afraid of Nathan.
  • Yuvan immediately snapped back to his usual self and smiled, “Ms. Lambert, I hit it off with Mr. Jones, so we chatted for a while.”
  • Then, he went forward, took the contract from Rebecca and signed it without even looking through.
  • “I’ll need to count on Ms. Lambert to take care of this project. If you need anything, call me anytime,” Yuvan said.
  • He nodded his head at Nathan and went out, but Nathan didn’t even raise his eyelids.
  • Yuvan walked out of Rebecca’s office and exhaled loudly, as if a heavy burden had been lifted off his shoulders. This expression did not escape the eyes of Quincy and the rest.
  • “Mr. Hansen…” Quincy started.
  • “Mr. Lambert, I’ve already signed the contract for this project, so let me make things clear now. Ms. Lambert must be solely in charge of this project. Otherwise, I’ll terminate it any time!”
  • Yuvan was back to his domineering and unreasonable self. “One last thing!”
  • He looked at the director who opened the door earlier and had treated Rebecca with disdain. “I think it’s better if Lambert Corporation doesn’t keep Idiots like this one here.
