Chapter 10 Shock

• Before long, Yuvan had arrived.
• With five luxury cars in a row, and a Bentley at the front, it was truly an impeccable sight!
• Yuvan had quite the reputation in Derport. He had countless businesses and was ranked among the top three richest men.
• The most shocking part was that he had gone from rags to riches in just five years!
• Anyone who worked with him was almost guaranteed to reap only profits.
• Lambert Corporation had invested a lot of resources into the project. Rebecca herself had worked hard for half a year, even going so far as to work overtime every day and through the night.
• Now, the project details were finally sorted, and all that was left was to sign the contract.
• However, who would have known that Yuvan, known for his bad temper, would show up personally to Lambert Corporation to sign the contract? That had never happened before.
• “Mr. Hansen!”
• Quincy was already waiting at the door.
• The moment he saw Yuvan’s car stop, he quickly ran up to greet him, “Welcome! Welcome!”
• Yuvan nodded slightly and scanned the area.
• “Where’s Ms. Rebecca?”
• As it turned out, Quincy never told Rebecca that Yuvan was coming over to sign the contract.
• Instead, he brought everyone in the top management to wait in the cold wind at the door.
• “Oh, Rebecca is a little busy and can’t welcome Mr. Hansen. That’s why I have to do it even though I’m the CEO.”
• Quincy put on an awkward and pitiful looking face.
• When the other directors heard this, they were even angrier.
• What on earth was Rebecca busy with?
• She didn’t have any work on her hands and was just sitting in that luxurious office with her useless husband. Who knew what they were doing right now?
• Worst of all, they had to brave the cold with their CEO.
• In their eyes, Rebecca had gone too far in abusing her position.
• At first, they thought Yuvan would blow his top, but to their surprise, he merely nodded and showed no signs of displeasure on his face.
• “Looks like those rumors were true. Something shady is really happening between Rebecca and Mr. Hansen.”
• “D*mn it. Women really have it easier. They just need to be pretty, spread their legs, and they can get any project they want. Us, on the other hand, have to work our asses off!”
• “Rebecca is truly outrageous. Does she think Lambert Corporation is hers?”
• Even the CEO had to stand in the cold and receive guests, while she was seated comfortably in the warmth of her office.
• The few directors exchanged glances, and their hearts had long turned against Rebecca.
• Unbeknownst to them, Yuvan didn’t find anything out of sorts.
• If Rebecca really came out to receive him, he’d be terrified!
• Even a big shot like Phillip was working for the big boss, so who was he to let Rebecca receive him?
• “This way please!”
• Quincy stretched a hand out.
• A whole row of people walked into the office, straight into the lift and up to the highest floor.
• News soon spread through the company like wildfire.
• The infamous Yuvan had come to sign the contract with Lambert Corporation, but not only did Rebecca not head out to receive him, she even left the task to Quincy and the top management. They had to wait in the cold for nearly an hour!
• Rebecca has gone too far!
• Rebecca is too arrogant!
• She thinks she’s above everyone else!
• How dare she use her sordid affair with Mr. Hansen to be so audacious!
• Needless to say, everyone was riled up against her, and many employees cursed Rebecca viciously behind her back.
• They called her a sl*t, a dirty wh*re, and some even secretly spat at the door when they walked past Rebecca’s office.
• Everyone had drawn a line between themselves and Rebecca in their hearts. They swore never to associate themselves with a woman like that.
• She was such a hypocrite!
• Quincy led the way as he explained about Lambert Corporation and spoke about how much he respected and admired Yuvan.
• After being in the business world for so many years, Quincy was excellent at talking, and he always made people feel good after listening to him.
• Yuvan, however, didn’t seem to be paying him any attention.
• He only had a patronizing look on his face.
• “Mr. Hansen, the meeting room is this way.”
• Quincy was still smiling. “I’ve already gotten someone to make copies of the contract, so please take a seat first. I’ll get Rebecca over now.”
• Yuvan’s insistence on signing the contract with nobody else but Rebecca was already crazy enough.
• After all, nobody had ever heard of any connections between the two.
• Besides, given Yuvan’s wealth and status, was there any woman he couldn’t have?
• Despite those thoughts running through their mind, the directors could only quietly shake their heads.
• “Oh, no. No, no.” Yuvan immediately shook his head. “How can I let Ms. Lambert come here. I should be going to her instead.”
• Quincy froze when he heard this.
• The directors were also taken aback. What did he mean?
• Was Yuvan angry and saying that sarcastically?
• He had to be angry. After all, who wouldn’t be mad at the arrogance Rebecca had shown? Besides, she was merely an ordinary employee of Lambert Corporation.
• Or was it because Rebecca and Yuvan really had an illicit relationship, and he got angry that she was abusing her power? Did she have a death wish?
• Many people who thought about it that way started to gloat about seeing her downfall.
• “Mr. Hansen, this…” Quincy pretended that he was in a terribly difficult position. “Mr. Hansen, Rebecca is still young and immature. Please don’t be angry.”
• Even though that was what he said, he was secretly hoping hard that Yuvan would fly into a rage. If the project got tossed aside or even cancelled as a result of this, Rebecca and family would have to be kicked out!
• “Where’s Ms. Lambert?”
• Yuvan waved a hand with a slight frown and couldn’t be bothered to listen to Quincy anymore. “Lead me there!”
• Quincy motioned to one of the executives and he immediately went forward.
• “Mr. Hansen, this way please!”
• Yuvan must be fuming now!
• You can just tell from his expression. He looks so angry and serious!
• Rebecca is doomed this time.
• The entire row of employees started walking quickly towards Rebecca’s office. When the rest of the company heard about this, everyone became curious.
• Many found an excuse to run errands so they could run up to the floor where Rebecca’s office was.
• Rebecca had behaved so arrogantly, so they were waiting to see what would become of her!
• Meanwhile, Rebecca was in her office and she couldn’t sit still at all.
• She had never dared to even dream of having such a luxurious office, yet Quincy personally arranged it all despite the current situation.
• She just felt that something wasn’t quite right.
• “Nathan, what is my uncle trying to do?”
• Rebecca was worried. “I feel like there’s something wrong somewhere.”
• Nathan, who was seated on the couch, calmly replied, “There is indeed something wrong. This office isn’t good enough for you.”
• Rebecca was speechless.
• If this standard of luxury isn’t enough, then what ridiculously high standards did Nathan have? Wasn’t he just a homeless lad before this?
• Before Rebecca could respond, someone knocked on the office door.
• “Please come in,” Rebecca replied.
• The director who led the way earlier was outside frowning and feeling very displeased.
• Rebecca isn’t even coming over to open the door for me, huh? I have to do it myself?
• With that, he pushed the office door open and snorted to himself. Rebecca… You’re doomed this time.
• “Ms. Lambert is in the office, Mr. Hansen, but I’m afraid I’m not qualified enough to go in.”
• There was much sarcasm and disdain in his voice.
• He thought that Yuvan would take his side, but to his shock, the man merely looked at him and frowned. “You really aren’t.”
• Without waiting for a response, Yuvan was like a completely different person the next moment. He bowed slightly, put on a smile and walked in with great respect!
• “Ms. Lambert, it’s Yuvan. I’m so sorry for interrupting you like this. I hope you won’t be mad!”
• His tone of voice was as if he was meeting a bigwig!
• That director was completely stunned!
• Quincy was also shocked, to the point where he couldn’t get a single word out.
• All the employees watching widened their eyes and dropped their jaws.
