Chapter 37
- The path to the second trial was narrow and winding, the air heavy with an otherworldly energy. Amara walked at the front of the group, her heart pounding as the glowing glyphs on the walls began to shift and change. She couldn’t shake the sense of foreboding that seemed to press down on her with every step. Behind her, Xander and Asher moved cautiously, their weapons drawn and their eyes scanning the shadows for danger.
- As they rounded a final bend, the passageway opened into a vast chamber bathed in an eerie blue light. At its center stood a shimmering portal, its surface rippling like water. The glyphs on the walls pulsed in rhythm with the portal, their glow brighter than ever.
- “This is it,” Amara said, her voice barely above a whisper.
