• After the door closed behind Joshua, Lucy, Karen, and Rita, Amara let out a deep sigh of relief. Her body still buzzed with adrenaline from the confrontation, but now that the storm had passed, she finally allowed herself to relax, even if just for a moment. She walked over to her window and gazed at the sprawling estate, her thoughts racing. Despite everything, she had stood her ground, and for once, she had felt powerful, not weak.
• Suddenly, her phone rang, breaking the silence in the room. She glanced down at the screen and smiled when she saw the name flashing across it: ‘Asher.’ Her beloved cousin, Alpha of the Lenovo Pack. Asher was from her mother’s side of the family, the only relative who had consistently stood by her through thick and thin. If there was anyone she could count on, it was him.
• “Amara, darling!” Asher’s familiar voice boomed through the phone, his tone a mix of warmth and excitement. “How are you? I just saw the news!”
