• It was late into the night and I could hear the howling of other wolves and the chirping of crickets. It was hard work constantly turning my neck, looking behind me to be sure that none of Ethan’s men were following me. By now, it must be news that I had escaped from the pack house and his guards would be saddled with the responsibility of bringing me back.
• Well, it was a good thing that I was so close to my father’s house. I knew for a fact that my dad would be ashamed of me for getting caught, but he was not going to turn me in. He was in on my plan after all and knew how well it would benefit our family and lineage.
