• Maddie's pov
• I arrived at Ethan's office door. The guard on duty didn't say a word to me as he kept his eyes focused, staring dead ahead as though I did not exist. I didn't want to say a word to him either since he was being really aloof with me, but I decided against it.
• I needed to know if Ethan was in the office. I did not want to risk going in there and being accused of stealing something again. It had happened once, I was not ready for it to happen again.
