Chapter 54

• Jose's POV
• When my men and I are about a half a mile out from the old mansion that Thomas has bought we pull over on the side of the gravel drive. We all pile out and put on our night vision goggles. We silently make our way toward the house. Once we are in viewing range we stop and gather intel. We scout the area to make sure there isn’t any hired guns helping guard the grounds. When we are positive there isn’t any soldiers outside, we creep closer to the house. After all, four teams are in position I don’t waste another second. We kick the door open and storm in. Half on my men stay downstairs going through the rooms, while the other half follow me.
• Every door that we come to I sling open. Knowing that I am looking for the bedroom that is locked. We go down one hallway and start on the next when I come to the second door, I try to push it open like I did all the others, but this one doesn’t budge. I take a step back and thrust my foot directly right under the handle. The wood splints and it flies open. I rush inside hollering out Abby’s name. When I glance toward the bed, I notice Abby sitting straight up in surprise. I hurry over to her and gather her up in my arms. I hug her as tight as I can. When I peek into her eyes there are tears starting to pour out. With a weak voice I hear her say. “You actually came for me. I didn’t know if you would or not. It’s Thomas Jose he is the one behind all of this. Stacey is in on it with him.” I can tell that she is trying to see if I believe her or not. I only smile at her and say “I know sweet heart. Let’s not think about that right now. We need to get you out of here and to some place safe.”
