- Dylan whipped around at Beth's words, his curiosity piqued. "Eric and Amanda aren't her parents?" he asked, his brow furrowed in confusion. Beth let out a heavy sigh, her expression serious. "Yes," she said. "They aren't. It's a long story, but we've never been able to find her real parents. We've done DNA matches, checked public records, and anything we could think of, but there's no trace of them. It's like they never existed." Dylan's curiosity only grew deeper.
- With their technological advancements over the years, there was absolutely no way they would not be able to find anyone, dead or alive, but hearing that Hazel's parents had no record on their database left a bad taste in his mouth. 'It's impossible not to have a record from birth to date, not being found could only mean someone was hiding them or their data' he thought to himself and his frown got even deeper.
- 'Who could they be and why would they need to hide?' All the questions brewing in his head made him feel restless as a foreboding feeling arose in his heart. "Did the council know about this?" He asked.
