Chapter 18

• "Is there anything I can help you with?" the startled store clerk asked as she noticed the suspicious-looking lady who ran into the store panting slightly as she looked around the store.
• The lady smiled at the clerk and went into the store pretending to be looking for what to buy, her emerald eyes hidden behind her long dark hair, occasionally flickering to the door. The store clerk kept a close eye on her, while ready to call the police at any moment if the other turned out to be a bad person.
• The emerald-eyed lady heaved a sigh of relief as she saw several black shadows run in the opposite direction of the store she was in, she picked a pad of travel-friendly snacks and food and walked up to the counter, as the clerk arranged the goods, she flushed and point to the pad, "Please can I use your back door, I… uhm… I'm" She averted eye contact as her cheeks turned a shade darker. The clerk understood what she was trying to say and her eyes widened as she quickly made an apology to the emerald-eyed lady in her head for misunderstanding the girl who was just embarrassed.
