Chapter 59 Obsidian Pack Battle

• Rose has her arms wrapped around my waist, refusing to let go. Her tears are soaking through my shirt. The Sapphire Pack has not been involved in a conflict for many years. Rose hasn't seen the aftermath of war. She is terrified, and I feel guilty for leaving her in the safe room, but I have to protect my pack.
• I peek into the safe room and see Zeus handing something to Phoenix. Phoenix wraps his arms around Zeus's neck and hugs him tightly before letting go. Jealousy burns in my chest as I watch the two of them together. He is just as much my son as Zeus's, but I try not to let it show on my face. Cyra pulls Phoenix close to her, and I usher Rose inside.
