Chapter 84 Friends Make Life Better

• An hour later, I emerged from Dr. Yvonne’s office with a new sense of renewal and encouragement. Dr. Yvonne thought it best to schedule at least a couple of more appointments this week, but I asked her if it was ok if I could come in daily. I knew she would probably be too busy to fit me in, but she said she could definitely fit me in each day this week. I have also booked Monday and Tuesday of next week. I think Nathan had some pull in getting me to see her so soon. I was completely grateful for that, however.
• Dr. Yvonne is an amazing therapist. I have never been so at ease with a stranger as I was with her. It was like she really listened to me with no judgment. Trust me, I had a lot of things bottled up. I haven’t had the easiest life, but she listened as if I were her own family needing advice and comfort. Her compassion was endless, and she gave me a sense of belonging. Dr. Yvonne’s biggest advice is that you can’t fill someone else’s bucket if yours is empty. If you give to everyone else but not to yourself, you end up with nothing to give.
