Chapter 101 Dinner With Mother

• Fuck. I do not want to be here. I’d rather be at home chilling with my Amelie. She’s right, though; I should try to mend the relationship with my mother. Hopefully, there is something to mend.
• My father and mother didn’t love each other. It was an arrangement for business purposes. My grandfather on my mother’s side had a lot of financial problems. Luckily, his best friend was Carrington Michaels. My grandfather was desperate for an heir to the Michaels fortune. A deal was brokered, and financial help was given for his daughter's hand in marriage and for her to produce an heir. Their marriage was a disaster from the start, so much so that when I was born, my father had my DNA tested to make sure I was his.
