• I was aware of his eyes on me the minute he sat down but I pretended not to notice, why was he staring at me? Making sure I suddenly didn’t get up in front of the whole class and announce that he kissed me or he just got pleasure from the fear that comes with his intimidation. The sudden silence that fell upon the classroom brought me out of my thoughts and I looked around to see a teacher walking in.
• And her eyes were immediately drawn to where I was sitting like a magnet. I swallowed hard, bracing myself for whatever snarky remark she was definitely going to have about me being human, “You don’t belong in my class.” I felt myself instantly relaxed, out of all the worst things I imagined her saying, this doesn’t even come close.
