Chapter 17

• I looked up from my phone as I felt the car slowing down in front of a shiny black iron gate. A few seconds later, the double gate started to slide open causing me to stare wordlessly at the mansion it revealed. I have never been to the pack house before or even imagined what it would look like but it doesn’t matter because my imagination wouldn’t have prepared me for the magnificent view in front of me.
• Wild plants stood at either side of the long driveway to the mansion entrance. I wanted to baldly get down from the car so I could absorb the view at a slower pace. We drove past a water fountain, a large wolf sitting at the top, giving an illusion of a wolf growling at a threat while the waters danced around it.
