• His statement hung between us in silence for a couple of seconds before I opened the door and exited the room without giving him a reply or even looking back at him. I made my way back to class, relieved that the mystery behind my project had been resolved.
• No sooner than I sat down, Izzie approached my desk making me think she had been lying about where she kept the egg. She handed it to me, her lips pressed into a thin line as if trying to suppress the need to say something rude. Keeping my eyes on her, I examined the egg, making sure there wasn’t any crack on it.
