Chapter 5

• ALEXIA
• Fortunately Raven found me after searching for a while, according to her and after scolding me like an elder sister would to her younger one, she led me down the hallway, the same direction everyone seemed to be going as well. I assumed it was our next class even though I didn’t hear the bell that indicates the next period was about to start.
• "I was just bored of sitting in class alone." I told her, my mind occupied with how I was going to tell her about what happened between Alpha Killian and I earlier. “So, something totally crazy happened in class today."
• "I'm famished, tell me about it while we eat." She replied just as we entered the cafeteria and joined the long line at the waiting table.
• My culture shock was finding out that lunch didn’t start for them by noon but instead about eleven am in the morning, after like having one period. “It’s only eleven in the morning!” I couldn’t keep the bewilderment out of my voice, but the good news is, the line was moving pretty fast.
• "Oh darling, this is called pre-lunch. We have a larger appetite compared to humans, we have pre-lunch, lunch and main lunch.” She laughed, moving further with the line.
• "Now I get it." I flushed with embarrassment, I should have probably read more about the school. The crowd suddenly grew excited, pulling me out of my thoughts in time to look at what the source of the excitement was about. It was impossible to miss it and I should have known the only thing or in this context someone that could make girls that excited was Alpha freaking Killian!
• However he paid no attention as he skipped the line to the front like he owns the place, well he kind of does. They were the exceptions and no one said anything as he and his friends cut the line at the front to take their lunch, I couldn’t tear my eyes from him, he’s so beautiful it wasn’t even fair.
• I briefly closed my eyes, imagining if he was mine like we were dating, my heart raced with excitement. What would that be like? Are we going to own the place like the usual cliche popular high school couple or we are going to dominate it? Even in my imagination, it was sadly too obvious that we don’t fit, I look so mundane beside him.
• “Damn! I wish we get special treatment too." Raven’s lamentations, forced me back to confront the reality I was in.
• "We would if we were royalty," I pointed out.
• "True and not true.” She responded. “You have to be high on the hierarchy to be able to enjoy the benefits these three get. What title or position is above the Alpha? None. Zeke came from a line of Betas and he’s Alpha Killian’s Beta as well, just like his forefathers had been to Killian’s ancestors as well.” I took note of Zeke, although Killian was only a few inches taller than him, his hair was longer.
• “And Ben…” Raven continued, using her head to motion toward the third guy. “He’s the Gamma, third in command as well. His family are new to the title though, his grandfather took it from the previous family holding it in the challenge, he won and the title got passed to Ben’s family. There are other important titles a family can hold which aren't as high as the three I just mentioned.” She concluded.
• I understood her point, my eyes lingering on Ben, he was taller than Zeke and had a more boyish look. One can even describe him as being girl-pretty due to having more like feminine facial features. My eyes moved to the Alpha himself, my heart doing a series of flips as butterflies fluttered around in my tummy.
• "Just look at their table," She gestured towards the top floor, a space reserved just for them. Raven was so right about this not being fair, while they have the top floor to themselves and the rest of the school settled at the bottom, well the place was huge thankfully.
• “Racheal Wolfclaws and Alexia Jackson on the line? Please step in front of the line.” Someone behind the waiting table called over a microphone.
• Heads turned in our direction, wait… how did they even know my name? However Raven didn’t seem to mind as she half-dragged me to cut in the front line. Killian and his friends moved away not paying attention to anyone else, again I darted a look in his direction wondering if he had something to do with this.
• "Wow! How did we get lucky?" Raven wondered aloud as we settled down on a table close to the window.
• I dropped my backpack on the empty seat next to me, realising I should have stopped by my locker before coming here. "Do you think Alpha Killian had something to do with this?" I asked, taking a bit out of my half sandwich.
• It was impossible for me not to stare at the plate of spaghetti and meatballs, accompanied by the burger and fries in front of Raven, could she possibly finish that? To be fair, she’d mentioned they had an active appetite and everyone also ordered the same way or more.
• "What? No, I don’t think so.” She frowned slightly, probably confused. “Why do you think so?”
• To clear my point, I told her what happened, watching her eyes go from medium wide to full blown wide, it was funny really.
• "Geez, why would he defend you? I told you to stay away from him!” She cried, her voice laced with worry, she also looked visibly scared which in turn made me panicked.
• “I’m staying away from him, it just happened.” Mind you, I haven’t even told her there’s a chance I have a little crush on him and she reacted this way, what if I tell her? She might probably pass out plus it's just a stupid unrequited crush, I’m pretty certain it will fade soon, until then I’ll just keep it to myself.
• "Let's hope he’s just helping you for the goodness of his heart.” It was clear she didn’t believe that one bit. “He never concerns himself with anything or anyone so I doubt what you owe him will be anything good, hopefully he doesn’t ask for a head in return.” She chuckled like it was funny.
• “That’s not funny.” I made a face at her, wondering when my life suddenly spun more out of control.
• The first thing that usually gives his presence away was everyone else's reaction to it, I looked up to see Alpha Killian approaching our table! I shook my head, thinking I was daydreaming again but thanks to everyone else's reaction that made me realise this wasn’t in my head, it was happening!
• My heart raced as he stopped in front of me, a faint quiver passed through my body and yet I couldn’t tear my eyes from him. No, no, no, I wanted to disappear into thin air.
• "Alexia." The way he pronounced my name, did more damage to my heart than anything else. I sat there, staring at him, tongue tied and sweaty palms.
• He raised a questioning eyebrow at me, I realised he wanted me to answer before he proceeded with whatever he came here for which I’m guessing is to give me a heart attack. From the corner of my eyes, I glimpse Raven’s worried face.
• "Yes Alpha." I finally answered in a breathy voice. Addressing an Alpha you aren’t mated to as Alpha was how far we went in today’s Luna lesson because my bitchy teacher wouldn’t stop talking about the war and blaming me for it, as if I was representing the whole human race!
• “Come with me.” Was all he said before he started walking away, giving me no choice but to follow him.
• I swallowed nervously as I stood up, glancing in Raven’s direction for what to do. She nodded for me to go ahead, like what she is supposed to say? To stay behind so we can both face his wrath? As I followed him out, I noticed everyone was staring at us, some were pity stares, they probably thought he was taking me where to quietly murder me…but what if he was?
• He opened the studio door and went in, I went in after him, almost close to tears. I purposely left the door open but then he motioned for me to shut it. Even though I was the one to shut the door, the sound still frightened me and made me jump.
• I barely turned around fully when he slammed me against the door, my soul left my body then, thinking about the worst but nothing would have prepared me for what he did next. Pressing me against the hardwood, his lips came down on mine, shocking the hell out of me.
• I froze, trying to wrap my head around what was going on but that’s the thing. I wasn’t prepared, I didn’t know what to wrap my head around. His scent assaulted me just as his lips consumed me, my heart raced with fear, excitement as I couldn’t believe Alpha Killian had his tongue in my mouth, stealing every breath and every defence I put up around myself.
• When he let out a breathy moan and started to kiss my neck feverishly, I wanted to sob from how good it felt. I could die right now and I’d die happy knowing I at least know the feeling of his mouth on my skin.
• The whimpers and moans that escaped my lips seemed to drive him wild, his hand circled around my braided ponytail as his mouth moved to my mouth face, this time avoiding my mouth and tracing his tongue along my jaw, causing me to grip his shoulders.
• Below us, he pushed my thighs apart, moving in between them. A broken sob got stuck in my throat when his erection nestled against my pussy. Desires pool at me, I wanted to sob with relief, to cry and I wanted him to continue what he was doing to me. I felt consumed by pleasures, I couldn’t think, I could only feel, feel the way his left hand came up to cup my face as his mouth returned to my lips once more.
• Not even in my wildest imagination did I think I would be kissing the same person I hated and who hated me in return, the same person my friend warned me to stay away from, on my very first day of school!
