- I had arrived at the hospital early that morning, expecting a quick visit to see Elgin, who was finally being discharged after what had felt like an eternity of waiting. The nurse had called me earlier, informing me that Elgin would be ready to go home today. It was a relief—finally, he was going to be out of this sterile, white-walled prison. I have missed him so much, the workloads have been so much for me that sometimes I pass out without even knowing. I was always stressed out at the end of the day; it was not easy running two works at the same time, the pack, the company, and I guess, personal affairs issues. I think I was beginning to lose my senses and decided to just forget everything and lock myself up in my room when the call came in, and the good news filled my ear. Even though he was not stable yet, just as the nurse told me, I would still be glad for him to help me with some work from his bed.
