• My eyes widened a little bit as I realized what I said, the effects of my words beginning to show on Laura in front of me, the gravity of my words weighed down heavily on the silence suddenly stretched between us. I realized the damage my statements had and would cause; I should not have said those words to her. Realization dawned heavily on me that I had done: she was still accusing me of neglecting her calls and still pointing to me on a course I know was true, now I had the gut to make mention of these terrible acts to her.
