• Sophie was surprised to see Ethan’s call that afternoon. They had just finished their lecture and they were heading to Lisa’s car when his call came in.
• She listened to what he had said and nodded. Ethan didn’t want to impose on her and wouldn’t hold it against her if she refused but she cut him off immediately. She was happy to do it.
• As he explained, Sylvia’s mother’s life might be in danger and he needed someone who she could listen to. He believed Sophie could be that person and Sophie felt the same. She assured Ethan that she would give him a report about the task tomorrow.
