• They walked together to her mom’s room, where Sophie’s mom, Margaret, was propped up on pillows, reading a book. Her eyes lit up when she saw her sister.
• "Marie! You have arrived, welcome. Oh, it’s so wonderful to see you," Margaret said, her voice filled with emotion.
• Marie rushed to her side and Margaret rose up gently as they enveloped each other in a gentle hug. "Margaret, I’ve missed you so much. How are you feeling?"
