Chapter 111

• Sophie woke up the next morning to back ache and all sorts of body pain. She had slept on the bare floor, and all her body was aching. Soon, though, the same man from yesterday brought her food. She ate, and afterward, he tied her hands again. Her legs were never untied.
• She begged him to tell her what was happening, but he didn’t respond to her. Afterward, the door opened again, and a man came in smiling at her. The man looked familiar, and she was wondering where she had seen him before.
• “Now, I have you all to myself,” the man said, coming closer. The light coming from the window illuminated his face, and Sophie was shocked to see that it was the same one who had accosted her on her way back from the library some days ago.
