• Ethan and Jack were making and receiving calls till past eleven in the night. Calls from investors and board members piled up one after another, their concerns woven with fear and frustration.
• He ran his fingers through his hair, watching his phone light up for the umpteenth time. Beside him, Jack’s brows were knitted in concentration, his voice calm but assertive as he tried to ease the apprehensive investors on the other end.
• “Tell them we’re doing everything in our power to manage the situation,” Ethan said, ending his call with a sigh. “We’ll have to hold a press conference by Monday. This can’t wait.”
