It was from a popular entertainment site, and as the page loaded, he saw a picture of himself sitting next to Vanessa's hospital bed, looking very concerned as he held her hand. The headline praised him for being a "devoted fiancé" who stayed by her side during her recovery.
• Ethan’s anger simmered beneath the surface. He hated being used in these media stunts, especially without his permission. Ethan clenched his jaw, knowing exactly who had orchestrated the entire thing. He dialed Vanessa's number, and she answered with her usual cheerful tone.
