• “Shadow, later.” I whispered, forcing a tight-lipped smile. We weren’t exactly thrilled to see each other. I had been watching her, and she had been watching me. Both of us caught each other in the act. I cleared my throat, ready to act as nonchalant as she was. “Well, well, well,” I said, my voice dripping with mockery as I approached her. “What’s our Luna up to? Sneaking around and having covert conversations?”
• Her figure was illuminated by the moon now, the glow softening the sharp edges of the night. Shadow stretched lazily before muttering something about going to sleep and filling him in later about tonight’s escapade.
