  • The last time I saw their wolves was the day that creature lunged for me. Zane had stepped in front of me like a shield while Jace threw himself straight at the monster.
  • Honestly, I almost lost it. If the twins hadn’t been there, I’d probably be in a shallow grave by now. I tried to steady my breathing and regain control before my wolf did something reckless again, but for a while, I couldn’t make sense of what they were doing—something about their wolves being in sync or whatever.
