Chapter 27
- “Everybody, run!”
- Chaos erupted like wildfire through the school. The shrill alarm blared over the sound of terrified screams as students scattered in every direction, desperate for safety. Renee and I exchanged a panicked glance before she threw my arm over her shoulder, half-dragging me toward the nearest classroom. My leg throbbed painfully, and without her strength, I would’ve been trampled in seconds.
- It wasn’t until we stumbled through an open door that I remembered—I was the bait. And worse, I’d sprayed myself with Scentless, thinking it would keep the monsters off my trail. Smart move, Ayla.
