Chapter 44
- Jace’s POV
- I watched her disappear into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her. Even from here, I could feel the storm brewing inside her — a mix of frustration, anger, and something more fragile, something that made her human under all that wolf strength. My gut twisted at the sight. She was trying to contain it, but it was like watching a volcano tremble before it erupts.
- Her reflection stared back at her in the mirror, tense and unyielding. I could almost hear her inner voice berating her for letting her emotions take over in front of Zane. I knew that look — the one that said she blamed herself for losing control.
