Chapter 31
- The ride back to the Reyes estate was painfully silent. I sat in the backseat between Zane and Jace, both staring out the tinted windows as the dark forest blurred by. The silence was heavy, pressing down on my chest like a physical weight. Nobody said a word after what happened. Not a single apology. Not even a “thank you.”
- Zane’s jaw was tight, his hands gripping his knees like he was holding himself together. Jace’s reflection in the glass looked hollow, like the light had been drained from him. They had lost their father—Alpha Storm—and everything about them felt shattered.
- And me? I was caught in the middle of it all. I hadn’t asked for this war or the blood that stained my hands, but somehow, the storm always found me.
