• For what felt like forever, Jace stayed silent, which was unusual. I’d asked him about his mate—who she was, what she was like—but he hadn’t said a word. My fingers tugged at my hair in frustration. Why was it so hard to get a straight answer? Brooke Bentley? No… that wasn’t it. I tried to push the thought aside, but my mind was a whirlpool of questions and impatience.
