  • Claire knelt on the bedroom floor, half-swallowed by a pile of folded and unfolded clothes, her brows knitted in mild frustration. She had intended to sort her wardrobe for just fifteen minutes, but it had already stretched into an hour. Between tossing out things she hadn’t worn in years and debating whether a few items still fit her style, she barely noticed how much time had slipped by. The mess on the bed looked like a fabric explosion, and yet she found it oddly therapeutic.
  • She reached for a silk blouse that still had a tag on it, frowning at herself. “I bought you three months ago and never wore you once,” she muttered, throwing it into the keep pile.
