• “You sure you’re okay?” I asked for the fifth time, my hand still wrapped protectively around Margauex’s wrist as she sat between me and Nathan in the backseat. She looked more annoyed than injured now, her head leaned dramatically against the window like she was reliving some tragic scene in a soap opera.
• “For the fifth time,” she muttered, turning to face me with a tired smirk, “I’m not dying. Ivan didn’t break my bones. Just bruised my ego and scared the life out of me.”
