Chapter 141
- Unknown POV
- The streets were nearly empty, the usual hum of the city replaced with the occasional sound of a passing car and the distant murmur of nightlife. In one of the quieter corners of Sydney, far from the glimmer of rooftop bars and high-rise lights, an alleyway sat cloaked in shadows. The faint glow of a flickering streetlamp was the only thing cutting through the darkness.
- Two figures stood there, both wrapped in long, hooded cloaks that concealed their features. Their body language, however, betrayed urgency. The slender one paced back and forth near the brick wall, her boots crunching against the grit on the pavement, while the chubby one stood still, holding a brown envelope tightly against her chest.
