• The air in the park was crisp, with just enough breeze to tousle the dark curls of Robyn, and ruffle Liam’s little button-down shirt. Sarah sat on the edge of a stone bench, her gaze occasionally drifting from her children to the sky above—painted with soft pastels as the sun began its slow descent.
• It had been a rather long week that had drained her—taking a huge toll on her interaction and activities with her children. The scandal, and the thing with Edward had consumed her, drained her, nearly broken her—shut her off from the rest of the world, including the people she loved—her children, Benicio. But she was thankful for the timely intervention of Cara, and also the resolution of the issue which she owed to Edward. One more thing she was also thankful to him for—he had opened her eyes to her foolishness when he gave her his answer; when she asked why he had helped her.
