Chapter 173 He Prayed

  • CHAPTER 173: He prayed
  • The sirens wailed like a death cry as the ambulance tore through the city, weaving between cars, red lights blinking furiously against the steel of the early evening sky. Inside, Sarah lay pale and motionless, her cream wedding dress soaked in crimson. The blood trailed in rivulets down her side, dripping onto the gurney wheels. Every bump on the road jolted her fragile form, her breaths ragged and uneven.
  • Benicio sat beside her, gripping her hand tightly, his knuckles white with tension. His hands and suit were stained red with her blood. Across from him, Mrs. Langford kept whispering prayers beneath her breath, her hands shaking with every word. Edward sat stone-faced, a storm brewing behind his eyes. His gaze never left Sarah’s face, even as his thoughts screamed about his missing children. He neither registered the blood stains on his hands nor the huge red patch on his suit.
