• Sarah walked out of the powder room, and stumbled out of the banquet. She felt like her chest, and airway, was closing up. She needed to breathe.
• The air outside the banquet hall was cooler than it should have been for the season—thankfully. Lights spilled out in golden halos, from the tall french windows, even as laughter and clinking of glasses echoed faintly from the hall.
