Chapter 167 It Shouldn't Have Hurt
- CHAPTER 167: It shouldn’t have hurt
- The early morning sun filtered gently through the sheer curtains of Sarah’s home, casting a soft golden hue across the polished marble floors. A tentative quiet filled the house, broken only by the distant hum of the staff beginning their day. Sarah stood by the window in her bedroom, one hand pressed lightly to her abdomen, the other cradling a cup of warm ginger tea. The nausea had kicked in greatly. It was almost as if it was waiting for her to identify the real issue before it fully kicked off. Mrs Langford had suggested and prepared a steaming cup of ginger tea to help with the nausea, and so far it was helping.
- Sarah’s eyes were distant, searching through the garden outside yet focused on nothing in particular. She had been that way since the children left for school with Benicio earlier. They had tried to explain the recent situation to them, but they were confused. Sarah was thankful it was only the marriage that they had told them about yet. They thought that their mother was going to marry their father. It was a very uncomfortable conversation to have. She could see that Edward already had the children’s love, and they idolised him. Her thoughts, restless and burdened, roamed in circles around the one truth she carried within her—the life growing inside. The truth she had kept from her children till now.
