His eyes were bloodshot from lack of sleep, a glass of untouched scotch resting on the table beside him. Even with the strains of exhaustion and weariness telling on his body, Edward did not care. Actually all he wanted was a chance to make things right by the woman he loved. But sadly wishes weren't horses.
  • James sat across from him in one of the wingback chairs, arms folded, watching his friend with a mixture of curiosity and concern. He was in a state of shock. He just could not believe all that he had just told him. Going away for a week had put him out of the loop on a lot of things.
