• There was no sign of him anywhere close. Nowhere around the house, not the study or the shed, but a few of his men did mill around the property.
• No one would tell her where he had gone, but she comforted herself with the thought that earlier that day they had been together. She was concerned about him and his problems and he wouldn't talk to her, but she also knew that he was capable of taking care of himself.
