Chapter 37

• Fran was trembling with fear and anger as she entered the garage. She had heard the motorbike out in the front and had heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that it was Nicolo driving off into the night. Still, she didn't want to take the chance of Luca's men, who might still be lurking around seeing her try to escape.
• Thankfully, Ennie was nowhere to be found in the garage, but that little bit of gratitude soon faded when she saw the assortment of cars filling every parking space. None of it looked like anything she was used to. She walked desperately down the line of cars, chest heaving, mind racing as she thought about which car was light enough to travel faster with.
• There was even a four-wheel truck. Fran nearly cried in frustration. Walking back down the line, she did not see the shadow fall on the door of the garage until it was too late. There was nowhere to hide.
