Chapter 41

• Fran spent the night beside her sister dozing off. Every few hours she would wake up, reach out to touch Faith's hand, find her sister warm but unresponsive and then drift back to sleep. Faith was breathing normally now, but she still had not opened her eyes.
• Fran held on to the hope that she would live. Emilio had assured her that she would. The gunshot wound wasn't fatal. She would need some advanced treatment when she was stable.
• When he came out of the bathroom after washing up, he told her that Faith would need to get an X-ray done on her hip and that would determine just how serious the damage to her hip was.
