Chapter 31

• By the time they returned to the main house it was late in the evening. The water was beginning to grow cold and the air was even colder.
• The draft in the air seemed to widen the distance between Luca and Francesca as they rode back to the house. Although they had helped each other wash up, there was no further touching or kissing. Fran made it intentional to avoid Luca's eyes even though he wouldn't stop looking at her.
• He helped her button up her shirt and insisted on clearing up their picnic things when they were ready to pack up.
