Chapter 28

• Annika had just finished her workout in the crew gym. She enjoys going there on occasion, especially when the captain is unavailable; it allows her not to wait for him or think about him. When she goes to the gym, she feels that she is only concerned with her own well-being and health. She was perspiring, but she didn't mind.
• She noticed two other crews on their way to the crew bar: Leng and Merly, who are both bartenders on the ship. "Hey, Annika, are you coming to the assistant manager's birthday celebration, Ramon?" Leng inquired. "No, I'm not invited anyhow, and perhaps I don't drink," Annika responded. "As far as we know," Merly says, "everyone is invited."
• "It's alright; I just completed exercising, and I'm sort of sleepy now," she said. "I'll go to bed early tonight, but thank you for inviting me." "You're welcome; we should leave now," both ladies say as they go to the birthday party.
