Chapter 18

Captain Magnus was roaming around the ship early in the morning checking all the safety equipment with Chief Officer Larson; he was just in his white uniform without any bars on it, looking casual but still dignified. He then felt thirsty and went to the nearest bar he could find to get some water to drink.
Jaqueline is the bartendress, attending the bar by herself in the early morning. "Good morning, Jaquie." The captain claims he was unhappy when he saw her and greeted her. Jaquie felt the captain's already unhappy energy but managed to smile and respond, "Good morning, Captain Magnus, how are you?" The captain did not respond to her question but immediately asked for water: "Can I have some bottled water, please? Thank you."
Jaquie grabbed a bottle of water and handed it to the captain. "I know what is going on between you and Annika, and you are asking your group to give her hard work," Captain Magnus says, reaching for the bottle. "I have nothing to do with you; we may have been good friends before because I thought you were a nice woman, but as I have come to know you day by day, that is why I have decided to stop liking you." She had no idea such words would come from the captain's mouth.
