Chapter 70 In The Name Of Sweet Jesus
- Hakim's POV
- Dante was killing it in court with his arguments, but it was very clear to me that he wasn't going anywhere with it. He needed more evidence, and it didn't seem like he had it.
- That made me feel both relieved and kind of angry at the same time. I was relieved because his client will end up going to jail on behalf of whoever it is that the senator was trying to protect, and that the senator wouldn't have to know his name and add him to his black list, and I was angry, or rather disappointed that he couldn't tackle the case. A part of me wanted to yell and scream and dance for him like some cheerleader, while another part of me was satisfied that he wasn't going anywhere near winning; that was all before the video tape of Josh Lightwood beating the girl like a pulp was played.
