Chapter 24 Feeling Like Betrayal

  • "Were you talking to me?" He asked, pointing at himself.
  • "Who else is a fat man-baby in here? It is only you!" She said without batting an eye, and I almost choked while holding in my laugh. I and Cole and Mr Churchill were sitting in such a way that we were facing the guy, while Galinda, Stiles and Hakim were backing him, so they made laughing faces by virtue of not being seen, without letting out a sound. Our own case was worse. We couldn't make both the sound and the face, and we had to tighten our lips lest they expand into a smile before exploding into a laugh.
  • The poor guy snarled at the old lady for a few seconds before giving up on her. I felt he wanted to stand to his feet to confront her, but his bulging belly didn't allow him. It was that big. Even though he was sitting down and was behind a table, I could still see his belly protruding like that of a pregnant woman in her third trimester. He went back to burying his face into his bowl of ramen, while four empty, already-eaten bowls sat stacked beside the current bowl. I just couldn't blame him. The ramen was really worth being fat for.
