Chapter 57 An Understatement
- Dante's POV
- To say that I was shocked would be an understatement. I was literally expecting that punch. I saw it coming, and I had prepared my mind to receive it. I had also prepared myself to throw back another punch at him, and I had gone through the list of scar-removing creams that I would buy after him and I must've beaten ourselves up. I obviously wouldn't want to be carrying a black eye around, and not especially when I had to make an appearance in court.
- But the whole thing took me by surprise. One minute he was as angry as a malicious beast, like a hungry lion, and the next he was crying like an injured child, and before I knew what was happening, he pulled me into his embrace. Like, does any of it make sense?
