• The plane touched down in Los Angeles smooth as butter. It didn't take long to retrieve our luggage and when we met up with the rest of our family, everyone was fine.
• Everett was at the desk renting a car for us. He was tapping the counter absentmindedly, glancing left and right. I wondered if he was impatient with the clerk or if he had something more on his mind.
